There are a ton of bad tutorials out there on Youtube that try to teach you how to go about being Gal.
When I say bad, I don't been misinformed but still fabulous looking, I mean dodgy makeup, weak hair and straight up ignorance. Like you don't want to be following those channels but there are channels out there that produce really great, well informed content. Here are my Top 3 channels you should be following if you love or want to try Gal.
Colorado gal, Heather collaborated with a ton of other prominent members of the international gal community on her channel Hime Hime Star to bring a really great series called Beginner Guide to Gyaru that covers everything from makeup to skincare to gal history, hair, sub-styles and a ton of other great information. This is a great series for those who are starting out or those who want to know about Gal in more depth. Heather also posts her own personal content which also relates to Gal.
Gal mags always have makeup tutorials in them but they seriously cut corners. What if you want to know how Emiri Aizawa holds her brushes to apply her eyeshadow so pristine? Well now you can because hostess/kyaba store Maison De Beaute features a ton of Ageha models doing their makeup and hair in unnecessarily necessary detail.
Kawaii Pateen is one of the most informative channels about Japanese subculture and street style out there. Not only do they cover Gal, they cover a ton of other subcultures too.
Kawaii Pateen never slacks with how much information they cram into their videos and they have really great interviews and makeup tutorials by popular figureheads within the Gal community.
Yup so there you have it! There are other channels out there that had gal-related content but they don't post about it consistently. Did I miss a good one? If any of you lot know of any other great gal-related channels or even own one yourself, drop us a comment below!
